07/06/2008 06:14. According to a report in the UK's Auto Express , Alfa Romeo is quickly readying an open-air version of the MiTo, with the hope of putting the car on sale in just 18 months. Little is known at this time, but just like the MiTo hatchback, Alfa wants its cabrio to offer class-leading handling characteristics and will update its chassis accordingly. The car will most likely use the automaker's new active suspension system, called DNA, which uses two electronically-controlled springs on each wheel to improve grip and agility. DNA is set to debut on the MiTo coupe, so most likely few adjustments will be needed for the cloth top variant.

Besides offering the automaker's new DNA suspension, Alfa Romeo is hoping the MiTo will sport another innovation for the company -- solid build quality. The... // MotorTrend Magazine
