05/09/2008 21:13. This sexy-looking monster is a racing version of Audi's R8 and is intended for the GT3 class of sportscar racing.

It wears a modified nose to create downforce and a large rear wing.

GT3's rules, interestingly, prohibit four-wheel drive so, unlike the production R8, this is a rear-wheel drive with a six-speed sequential gearbox.

Maybe, like Porsche, Audi will sell a few road-going ones? // Mirror.co.uk
