BMW hit-and-run case: Final arguments begin 02/07/2008 02:32. New Delhi, July 1 (IANS) A city court Tuesday began hearing the
final arguments in the nine-year-old BMW car hit-and-run case in
which six people were killed here, with the prosecution stressing
that it was an enormous crime. The prosecution said the road
accident was not just negligence
but a serious offence in which some of the six victims were dragged
by the speeding car for several feet before their death. Blood stains, body parts of the victims and broken pieces of the car were found lying in an area measuring 100 to 125 square feet These aspects indicate that it was not a case of sheer negligence and it was a more serious offence, public prosecutor Rajeev Mohan stated before Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Kumar.
