27/08/2008 08:23. A defect in BMW's X3 and X5 front-passenger-seat sensor, which may
not lead to the airbag's deployment in the event of a collision,
has led to a manufacturer recall. The model years affected for the
X3 are the 2004-2006 years, and the 2006 model year for the X5 is
affected. The X3 has been recalled; however, the X5 is still under
investigation to determine whether a recall is necessary. The
current recall involves more than 200,000 BMW vehicles.
