Despite a challenging market in early 2008, HHR sales were up 8 percent, maintaining the momentum of 2007. That year, HHR sales topped 105,000 a record that beat 2006s 101,000 sales by about 4 percent.

Powerful and efficient Ecotec engines are at the heart of the HHR lineups success. They provide good performance, value and convenience. Variable valve timing added to the base 2.2L Ecotec engine for 09 enables more efficient performance, along with an increase in horsepower from 149 (111 kW) to 155 (115 kW)*.
