Steely Dan performs live at the Chevrolet Theatre in Wallingford
28/06/2008 15:11. There was a time when most of their fans thought they'd never have a chance to see Steely Dan perform live.

After all, the group's reclusive co-founders Walter Becker and Donald Fagen spent most of their prime-time locked away in studios, recording some of the most memorable, enigmatic and artfully constructed music of the 1970s.

Then they abruptly split up after 1980's "Gaucho."

Surprisingly, Steely Dan returned in the early 1990s, initially as a road act (before eventually getting back to the studio), and they've been regular fixtures on the concert trail during most of the years since.

On Wednesday, guitarist Becker and keyboardist/lead singer Fagen, accompanied by a typically superb eight-piece band with two background singers, brought the Steely Dan show to The... // The Republican - MassLive.com
