09/10/2008 20:38. The French automaker has been busy after something of a development
hiatus. Having unveiled a couple of stunning concepts at the Paris
Show, Citroen now intend to build an eco-car in the mold of its
C-Cactus concept.
Citroen revealed its C-Cactus Concept last year as a showcase for a number of eco-friendly motoring
technologies the company had up its sleeve. The odd name was
derived from the “low consumption” characteristics of
the spiny desert-dweller that the company wished to convey with its
car.
Among the provisos set for the model under consideration are low
running costs, a spacious cabin, and distinctive styling. The
vehicle will be stripped of all superfluous components and utilise
recyclable body panels in order to drive down production costs.
