Japan: New Daihatsu Move Conte first vehicle for Oita assembly and ... 28/08/2008 00:04. The Move Conte is the first vehicle to be built at Daihatsu's
Oita No. 2 plant, with engines sourced from the even newer Kurume
facility. A new derivative of the Daihatsu Move small car has been announced for the Japanese market. The new Move Conte has slab-sided styling but, inside, there are sofa-style seats, the OEM states. The Conte looks nothing like the Move, but, intriguingly, is not dissimilar to the Tanto and Tanto Custom. Daihatsu has not said which, if any of its Kei-class cars the new model replaces. Much of the emphasis of the new cars will be on promoting their roomy interiors. To that end, the gearshift is on the steering column to allow more room for the driver's left leg and the interior height is claimed to be 1,350mm.
