30/05/2008 11:44. A national squash contest this weekend will have a bit of a rock and roll feel to it.

Guitarist for band The Datsuns Phil Buscke will be among the competitors in the Cousins Shield, a national club contest being held on Auckland's North Shore.

Buscke says squash was definitely his first love, as he followed his mother into the sport. He says in his early teens he learned to share racquets with guitars.

"It's pretty much the two opposite ends of the spectrum, I don't know if it was some kind of balancing thing that I was trying to do when I was younger. But it was like, if I ever got sick of one thing I'd just do the other."
