NEW YORK (AP) - Chrysler LLC on Wednesday said pricing on its 2009 line of Dodge Ram 1500 pickup trucks will be lower than this year's models, as the automaker confronts a rapidly shrinking truck market.

Chrysler said it will trim prices nearly 4 percent on its Dodge 1500 regular cab and larger Quad Cab models. It will also phase out its largest Mega Cab model and replace it with a smaller-cab truck priced 8 percent lower.

"It's a challenging time to introduce an all-new light-duty pickup, but Dodge never backs down from a challenge," Dodge Brand Director Mike Accavitti said in a statement.

Dodge will price its 2009 Ram 1500 at $22,170 for a regular-sized cab, $26,225 for a Quad Cab and $32,530 for the Ram Crew 1500. The Ram Crew replaces the larger Ram Mega Cab, which the company... // MSN Money
