revamped 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 utilizing Chrysler's Multiple
Displacement System (MDS) that the automaker claims
to improve fuel efficiency by four percent. The system
works by shutting off four cylinders when under light load in an
effort to cut fuel consumption and reduce emissions output. A
Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system is in place as well that
optimizes engine breathing for better productivity.
An additional 13 percent increase in horsepower and eight percent
more torque is had by the updated engine utilizing the VVT system
and active intake manifold. In total, the engine makes 390
horsepower and 407 lb-ft of toque, which is good enough for the 4x2
regular cab with a short bed to sprint to 60 mph in less than
