With all 500 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione coupes selling out relatively fast and customer demand initiating the production of 500 more 8C Spiders , the Italian brand is hoping to introduce the model's successor with some significant assistance from the house of Enzo. 

In an interview with Autocar , Alfa Romeo marketing director Sergio Cravero expressed the company's desire to utilize a version of the upcoming Ferrari California's underpinnings and engine in the next 8C iteration.  The present 8C Competizione was built using componentry borrowed from cousin automaker Maserati.  

"If would be great if Ferrari let us do it, but they are very hard to convince," Cravero said.
