The Dow Jones Stoxx 600 climbed 0.9 percent to 283.08. The Dow Jones Stoxx 50 Index increased 1.2 percent to 2,873.68. The Euro Stoxx 50 Index , a benchmark for the nations using the euro, added 1.3 percent to 3,330.90.

Acerinox SA (ACX SM): The Spanish maker of stainless steel products trades for the first time without the right to a 15-cent gross dividend. Acerinox fell 38 cents, or 2.7 percent, to 13.49 euros.

Agrana Beteiligungs AG (AGR AV): The Austrian sugar and fruit processor holds its annual shareholders' meeting. Agrana fell 4.8 percent to 63.2 euros.
