A staple of the Mustang for some forty years, the galloping horse mascot has been subtly revised for the 2010 pony car.  Ford claims the emblem, which appears more muscular and defined than its predecessor, echoes changes we'll see on the production car.  

Ford says the chrome finish will be "lightly" tinted on V-6 models, while GT cars will be adorned with horses clad in black chrome.

Ford of Canada named David Mondragon as its new president and chief executive on Monday.

The veteran Ford executive will replace Barry Engle, who is leaving Ford Canada to head a new unit of global farm equipment maker CNH Global NV, effective Sept. 1.

Today they revealed a new Pony Emblem to appear on the 2010 Mustang. On Tuesday, though, the automaker took two steps toward further cranking up Focus production, announcing that it would sink $75 million into the body-making part of an SUV factory next door to the Wayne Assembly Plant, where the Focus is built.

If demand stays strong, the SUV plant will quickly start producing Focus bodies, eliminating what is now a bottleneck that is slowing production.

Ford announced yesterday that it will be moving production of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator from its Wayne, Mich., facility to an existing plant in Louisville, Ky., to make room for production of a new small car, possibly to be based on the Focus.
