05/07/2008 00:50. Ford Australia has confirmed that it will reduce its sponsorship of teams competing in the V8 Supercar touring car racing championship in 2009.

The Ford Performance Racing team, operated by the UK automotive and motorsport development company Prodrive, and the Stone Brothers Racing, will continue to receive financial support from Ford in 2009 while the Dick Johnson Racing, Britek Motorsport and Triple Eight Race Engineering teams will receive engineering and technical support but no financial backing.
