04/07/2008 17:25. Ford has released images of its new high-performance Focus RS hatch ahead of its debut planned for the London Motor Show on July 22. The RS wont go on sale until early next year, however, and is yet to be confirmed for an Australian launch.

The new Focus RS has been developed by a small team of dedicated engineers, under the direction of Jost Capito, Ford of Europes vehicle line director for performance vehicles, and is the latest iteration of the hallowed RS badge that dates back almost forty years.

New RS draws inspiration from the past
