GM's focus is road ahead
GM will acknowledge its remarkable past, as it did Aug. 16 when Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rick Wagoner led a parade of more than 100 classic GM vehicles from its Renaissance Center headquarters to Athens Coney Island in Royal Oak, Mich., at the dawn of the Woodward Dream Cruise. But in the days leading up to its 100th anniversary, expect GM to talk more about its growth in China and progress in developing the electric-drive Chevrolet Volt than its 77 years as the world's largest automaker.
