New look is fully in accord

23/08/2008 00:26. HONDA has timed the on-sale date of its new Accord Tourer (estate) to coincide with the launch of the new registration plate on September 1.

The new-look Accord saloon went into showrooms on June 1 but the company decided to have a three-month gap between the launch of the two different body styles.

The latest Accord, in both saloon and estate, takes the model up-market in a big way in a determined effort to take sales from premier German competitors.

Externally neither the saloon or estate has undergone radical design changes, the new look being more evolutionary than revolutionary.

The new models, however, are more muscular and more sporty and this styling means the new Accord is being pitched against the more sporty looking BMWs and Audis like the BMW 318d M Sport and Audi A4 S... // Coventry Telegraph
