07/08/2008 18:44. Production of Hyundai 's Santa Fe sport utility vehicle increased at the Montgomery manufacturing plant in July, despite a recent drop in sales of the larger vehicle because of high gas prices.

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama spokesman Robert Burns said the plant made 46 percent more of the 2009 Santa Fes in July than in June to build up inventory of the newest model for dealerships. The new version is expected to reach buyers by late August or early September, he said.
