Sonatas up, Santa Fes down at Hyundai plant 06/06/2008 05:00. Production at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama plant was mixed in May, with an
increase in the number of Sonata sedans made but a drop in Santa
Fes. The Montgomery plant made 14,136 Sonatas in May compared to 13,097 in April, which is an 8 percent increase. But the factory made 21 percent fewer models of its signature sport utility vehicle, the Santa Fe, with 6,004 manufactured in May compared to 7,615 the previous month.
