31/07/2008 04:51. Jaguar Land Rover owner Tata Motors may bring back the Daimler brand at the top of Jaguar's lineup. So Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz are going to team up to produce high-end luxury sedans? Not quite.

The Daimler brand began in 1896 when England-based Fredrick Simms agreed to sell engines from Gottlieb Daimler. Daimler Motor Company was acquired by Jaguar in 1960. Today, Jaguar's terms with Daimler AG allow the latter to use the Daimler brand as the title fo a trading company, a trade name, or a corporate name, The Times reports, but this does not interfere with Jaguar's... // MotorTrend Magazine
