2009 Honda Civic Facelift for US market
23/08/2008 11:15. Look closely and you just might see the changes Honda has made to the Civic for the 2009 model year. The Civic continues to sell well, so for its midcycle change , Honda has played it safe for a car that seemed quite radical when it debuted in 2006. Changes are most visible from the front, which features a slightly enlarged grille and a three-part lower air intake. High-end EX and EX-L models get new polished 16-in. wheels (see the 2009 Civic picture above). In back, taillights have clear turn indicators and amber bulbs as well as a strip of chrome that runs from one taillight to the other. Inside, the sedan gets a three-spoke steering wheel like that inside the coupe. Oh, and there's improved cloth seating surfaces and... // MotorTrend Magazine Total: 35 news articles, 26 photos First News Article: U.S. News Rankings & Reviews, 19/08/2008 01:53 26/08/2008 03:54 The 2009 Honda Civic lightly tweaked Auto123

You can now spend almost $19,500 on a top-of-the-line Fit, which includes a built-in navigation system . The good news is that you get more features for the price. Notable new features include a USB jack to control an iPod from the Fit’s stereo, 10 cup holders, and rear seats that are easier to fold. Although that's less than a week away, it's nearly a month before
Honda planned to launch the car. The 2009 Fit was once
originally scheduled to arrive in the U.S. on October 1. Not surprisingly, the new launch timing is an attempt to satisfy demand for the car. In the first half of 2008, Honda sold 52,053 Fits in the U.S. - a 72.9 percent increase over 2007 sales. In the U.S. alone, Honda expects to sell 85,000 examples of the 2009 model... // Automobile Magazine 22/08/2008 02:20 Honda unveils the 2009 Fit Auto123

It's always been hard for me to find someone who doesn't like the Honda Fit. And what's not to like? It's earned a reputation for being nimble, thrifty, capable, and perhaps most importantly, charismatic. It might not be all that muscular, and it might be just the slightest bit IKEAesque inside, but for about fifteen grand it's hard to think of another subcompact that's quite as, well, friendly to live with. If the Fit were a transformer, it would fold out into a cheerful, helpful little brother with freckles and a turned-up... // Jalopnik 21/08/2008 03:27 US: Honda prices Fit for market just-auto.com
The new car gets up to 35mpg 'highway' fuel economy in EPA testing
and is sure to sell as well its predecessor, a comparatively late
arrival in the US, as buyers flock to smaller, more fuel-efficient
models. Despite being in its swansong year, sales of the outgoing model to the end of the July were up 72.9% year on year to 52,053 units, according to an independent source. The redesigned Fit line goes on sale on 26 August, American Honda Motor said. The Sport version with more equipment will make its US debut at $16,060 plus destination and handling charges. The full Fit/Jazz redesign, launched at the Tokyo motor show last October, and on sale in Japan soon after, is gradually rolling out worldwide - Asian sales started in March and European sales are just beginning. Kicking Tires reports, "Most of the changes are so subtle the average buyer won't even notice. However, there are some substantial changes to the Civic lineup as a whole that add some new value choices and tech features." Jalopnik explains, "From the appearance side of things, the most dramatic difference is the lower bumper -- it gets a set of flanking intakes which are probably just for visual interest." A new selection of alloy wheels is offered on EX, EX-L and Si models, and a strip of chrome now surrounds the rear license plate holder. The major news is a mildly revamped front end. The Civic's bumper gets a few more creases and a newly styled grille, along with new taillights and clear lens covers. New alloy wheels also appear on the highest trim levels of the Civic--EX, EX-L and Si--and the Si models also get fog lamps. But what's it like to put in major seat time inside the Fit--where you'll be spending all of your commuting hours? Here's what makes the Fit’s interior so noteworthy for such a compact car (click any of the photos to see what we mean, full-size): Instrument panel follows a flowing—yet very functional—form, with plenty of storage cubbies, well-positioned vents, and controls angled slightly toward the driver. PACIFIC PALISADES, California — Honda has released full
pricing and specifications for the redesigned 2009 Honda Fit , which hits U.S. dealerships in early September. Equipped with a
five-speed manual transmission, the base version of this subcompact
five-door hatchback starts at $15,220 (including destination)
— an increase of $600 over the '08 model. Opting for the five-speed automatic transmission increases the bottom line to $16,020 on the base Fit. Of the 85,000 people expected to buy the second-gen Fit in any given year, Honda expects 70 percent will choose the Fit Sport. Manual-shift Sport models are priced at $16,730 (an increase of $790), while automatics come in at $17,580 (an increase of $840). But I was hard-pressed to come up with anything, even after Honda had confidently assembled some well-equipped competing models nearby. And actually, the new Fit does it all so well that after a test drive you might be left wondering why your much larger, less fuel-efficient car feels cramped inside and less perky on the road. That’s quite a compliment for a car that, from its specs, would have been categorized as a dull econobox in... // TheCarConnection.com 20/08/2008 09:22 First Drive: 2009 Honda Fit MotorTrend Magazine
