Suzuki rolls out Grand Vitara, Equator
When the latest Grand Vitara went on sale three years ago, I was impressed with everything but the engine, a 2.8-liter V-6. The lack of spirit and so-so gas mileage were deal killers for me, especially after driving such vivacious competitors as the Toyota RAV4. With a couple of modern new engines for 2009, the Grand Vitara has undergone what amounts to a heart transplant, and, at $21,000 to $27,000, it's still a cheap date compared with top-line Japanese SUVs. You'll notice that some ads for the '09 Grand Vitara call it the GV, possibly a signal that a name change is under way. Suzuki recently made the re-engineered '09... // Austin American-Statesman 03/10/2008 00:56 Suzuki powers into third Vitara decade with new flagship Grand Vitara AutoCorse.it

Huntsville, ON. -- Fuel economy is king right now for a lot of
buyers on the market for a new vehicle - that much is obvious. As such, automakers are constantly seeking to improve fuel economy any way they can - by using technology like variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation, or going so far as to adjust gear ratios and recalibrate gas pedals. That's all fine and dandy, but, wouldn't it make sense to just start using smaller... // Autonet 29/09/2008 18:01 First look at new Suzuki Gixxer Wheels24.co.za
A little lighter, shorter, and of course, faster. Meet
Suzukis latest GSX-R1000. These are the first pictures of Suzukis new GSX-R. With an all-new engine and radical new styling, the company is hoping to claim their share of the hotly competitive Supersport class. Most import is an all-new engine with a larger bore and stroke than before (now 74.5mm x 57.3mm), a higher compression ratio, and revised fuel injectors to ensure a finer fuel mix with better combustion. This engine is also 60mm shorter than the previous engine which allows for a longer swingarm. On the chassis front the new GSX-R1000 has a shorter, twin-spar cast cradle frame that has been mated to the new longer, arched swing-arm which is made of three castings. The wheelbase has also been shortened by 10mm. All of this is... // Wheels24.co.za |
