A month of escalating economic worries made its mark on Honda Motor Co. Ltd. ’s U.S. sales, which fell nearly a fourth in September.
Torrance, Calif.-based American Honda Motor Co. , the automaker’s U.S. sales arm, said it sold 96,626 cars and light trucks last month, down 24 percent from 127,200 a year earlier. All models in the company’s Honda division and its luxury Acura division saw sales drop, with the exception of Honda’s compact Fit.
Columbus Business First reports monthly sales unadjusted for the differences in the number of selling days year to year. Honda measured its sales in September were down 21 percent from a year earlier, taking into account one fewer selling day this year.
