05/09/2008 16:07. SUBARU will be celebrating its 50th anniversary at next month?s Paris Motor Show by showing off new diesel versions of the Forester SUV and the Impreza hatchback.

The two-litre Boxer diesel engine ? the world?s first flat-four cylinder diesel ? is already fitted to the Japanese car maker?s Legacy saloon and estate.

Subaru claims that in the Forester it will deliver a class-leading 44.8mpg.
