small car, Maruti Suzuki has ambitious plans for manufacturing and
export activities. Suzuki 's Indian subsidiary Maruti Suzuki has announced plans to increase its vehicle exports to 200,000 units annually by 2010-11. This will be a significant increase over numbers for fiscal 2007-08 when the OEM exported 53,000 cars. Shinzo Nakanishi, the managing director and chief executive of Maruti Suzuki India, revealed the target in the OEM's annual report, according to Press Trust of India (PTI) . Exports are expected to be driven by the Suzuki A-Star/Alto, which will be manufactured exclusively in India. For this model alone, the OEM has targeted annual sales of 50,000 units in India, and 100,000 for export markets.... // Automotive World |
