Timo GLock's recent point-scoring form has convinced Toyota to retain him for a second season, confirms team boss John Howett.

Although he has yet to match the points tally of veteran team-mate Jarno Trulli , Howett told journalists that Glock would form part of an unchanged line-up in 2009.

"We have a multi-year contract with him, and we are very happy," Howett insisted, "He is progressing well, he is quick and getting more and more consistent. There is absolutely no hesitation... // crash.net

Accidents in the opening two grands prix in Australia and Malaysia robbed Glock of any chance of early points after he had looked impressive in qualifying.

The 26-year-old had to wait until the seventh round of the Formula One championship in Canada to break his points duck, finishing fourth.

A superb second followed in Hungary four weeks ago, and after claiming seventh in the European Grand Prix in Valencia a fortnight ago, Glock is currently 10th in the drivers' standings.
