02/07/2008 19:53. A Roanoke man who crashed his Jeep through an apartment wall and trapped the resident in his bed has settled the lawsuit filed against him for $100,000.

About 2:30 a.m. on March 20, 2007, as Dean Blevins slept in his apartment in the 900 block of Brandon Avenue Southwest, Wesley D. Smith lost control of the 1995 Jeep Wrangler he was driving

The Jeep crossed several lanes of traffic, smashed through the wall of Blevins' apartment building and landed on top of Blevins' bed. Blevins was trapped for more than an hour while Roanoke firefighters worked to get him out.
