03/07/2008 11:05. Hyundai Kia Automotive Group sold 78,325 cars in the U.S. last month for a 6.6 percent share of the market, topping the 6-percent mark for the first time in 22 years of doing business there. The group's share of the U.S. market improved 1.3 percentage points year-on-year. Hyundai in particular sold 50,033 units in the month for a 4.2 percent share. Reaching the 50,000-sold milestone and entering the 4-percent-share range are also firsts for Hyundai in the U.S.

June sales of Hyundai Kia cars grew 3.5 percent year-on-year, but given the 18.3 percent drop in total U.S. auto sales, the growth is actually quite high. This is thanks to rising U.S. demand for compact cars due to high oil prices and the economic downturn.... // 조선일보(영문판)
