Report: Leaked details on Land Rover's new seven-seater
25/06/2008 06:25. Sources tell AutoCar that the seven-seater will have unique bodywork and interior styling to stand out from other models, but at the same time, will host a mix of styling cues from the Freelander and the upcoming LRX, "but with its own distinct look."

To pull it off, the Freelander's platform will need to be stretched to make room for seven seats, and the end size is expected to be closer to the Discovery than the Freelander on which it is based. The L486 is expected to conquer more pavement than dirt and get better mileage and emissions than the larger Discovery. It will still have the Freelander's front-biased four-wheel-drive with a center differential to reroute torque to slipping wheels.
