Power and panache at right price 09/07/2008 17:07. The power is fired to the rear wheels through a six-speed manumatic
that features paddle shifters. It works to perfection with but one
gripe - its anticipatory skills are lacking. While the shifts are
smooth and suitably fast, whenever the sport mode is selected, the
box automatically drops down to fourth gear. This is annoying if
you're on the highway (115 km/h) and preparing to exit on to a fast
ramp, as it brings needless revs, a harsher shift and the need to
select the right gear. Riding on double front wishbones and multiple rear links with anti-roll bars at both ends, the IS 350 brings a commendable balance between ride comfort and a sports car's need to carve a corner. When loafing about town, most bumps pass by without upsetting the riders.
