19/06/2008 11:13. THE fastest Maserati sports car ever produced roared into Bahrain yesterday. The new GranTurismo S was unveiled at a Press conference at the Euro Motors showroom, Sitra. General manager Paul Yates and Maserati's Dubai-based marketing and sales manager for the Middle East and Africa Jade Zantout introduced the model to media representatives and prospective owners.

The Italian sports car has 4.7-litre engine that boasts 440hp, helping it power from 0-100kmph in less than five seconds and reach a top speed of 295kmph.

Buyers will have to part with more than BD50,000 to own the car and due to its exclusivity the dealership is only expecting five to be sold in the next year.

Each will be hand-made at the Maserati factory in Mondena, Italy to the specification of the buyer, before being... // Gulf Daily News
