Receivers file claim for Ferrari, Maseratis 14/06/2008 11:33. RECEIVERS of the failed Opes Prime Stockbroking group have filed
their second legal claim against one of the firm's former
directors, Anthony Blumberg, this time demanding the return of
three Maseratis and a Ferrari plus at least $2.17 million. Receivers Chris Campbell and Sal Algeri, of Deloitte Corporate Restructuring, who were appointed by ANZ, are also the receivers of two companies wholly owned by Opes directors Hawkswood Investments and Leveraged Capital. When ANZ lent Opes Prime $95 million in the week before it collapsed, the bank formulated a secured charge that extended beyond the assets of Opes Prime to cover those of Leveraged Capital and Hawkswood.
