02/08/2008 04:18. The McLaren F1 is the greatest supercar of all time, according to a new survey by CAR magazine. The poll of nearly two and a half thousand people showed that although the 90s were memorable for many reasons; bad hair, Britpop and brightly coloured clothes, the era produced one landmark creation that, a decade later, is still yet to be beaten – the mighty McLaren F1.

The survey, which ran on carmagazine.co.uk gave enthusiasts plenty of choice, but it seems nothing could surpass the definitive supercar of the 90’s. The McLaren F1 topped the list of 25 cars from across the decades with 30% of the vote – twice as many as the runner-up, Ferrari’s F40.
