2010 Mercedes-Benz E-class 24/06/2008 22:23. What it is: A redesign of the company’s bread-and-butter
sedan. Combines elements of the C-class , CLS-class , and S-class sedans: similar greenhouse, low hoodline, wide grille. Biggest
change: square headlights. Platform: The new E-class, internally known as the W212, is an evolution of the current E-class’s W211 platform. It won’t be a bigger E-class; the size is expected to stay at the current car’s 191-inch length. Powertrain: The same base 3.5-liter V-6 is expected to be replaced by the 288-hp, direct-injection version which is available in the CLS350 in Europe today. The diesel E320 and the E550 will have only minor powertrain tweaks for the U.S. Noteworthy technology:... // Car and Driver |
