The diesel segment in this class is gaining popularity and people have started to accept diesel cars with an open mind. This has forced Mercedes-Benz to introduce a first of its kind product in this market, the new E 220 CDI with a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel motor. The diesel mill churns out 410Nm of torque at a low 2000 revs and 170PS @ 3700rpm.

One of the most popular and strong selling cars from the Mercedes-Benz India range of products, the E200 Kompressor has been replaced by the new E230. This car has a 2.5 litre V6 petrol engine mated to a 7G-tronic transmission. The new engine develops 204PS @ 6100 rpm and 245Nm of torque at 5500rpm.
