Virtually unchanged since 1979, the G-wagen's boxy shape is recognized around the world, and Mercedes wasn't about to make any drastic changes. The updated G is distinguishable by a new grille with three large fins instead of seven, and the top-line G500 also comes with a fresh set of 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, Mercedes is offering a new media interface that allows MP3 players to be controlled via buttons on the steering wheel, and the automaker's COMAND infotainment system features improved voice operation that controls the SUV's stereo, navigation, and backup camera, and can be used to make calls on the driver's mobile phone.
