18/09/2008 09:05. The Mercedes S400 BlueHYBRID (note the use of all caps here, to let people know IT'S A HYBRID!) takes the exquisite S-Class and makes it into a Lexus LS600hL -killing eco-smug limo. Starting with a 3.5-liter V6, a hybrid drivetrain with a 20 HP electric motor and lithium-ion batteries specially developed for automotive use are added. Altogether it makes about 299 HP and produces just 190 grams of CO2 per kilometer...the best rating in the world for a car this big.
