18/07/2008 06:51. A small number of the hybrid sedans entered livery service earlier this week.  The Altima Hybridis rated at 35 mpg in the city, and will use approximately a third of the fuel consumed by traditional taxis (the ubiquitous Ford Crown Victoria only averages 12 to 15 mpg).  It's hoped the hybrids will save drivers $5000 in fuel expenses.
