Toyota's overseas production gained 4.3 percent to 400,749 vehicles, while production in Japan expanded 2.9 percent to 405,199 units.

TOKYO -(Dow Jones)- Toyota Motor Corp. (7203.TO) said Thursday that it lifted its domestic production in May 2.7% on year to 331,597 vehicles, the second consecutive month of rises.

Nissan Motor Co. (7201.TO) said the same day that its production in Japan soared 40.3% on year to 100,299 as it produced more vehicles for export.

Mitsubishi Motors Corp. (7211.TO) said its production rose 7.8% on year to 62,039 vehicles in the month as output of its remodeled Lancer for Russia grew.
