Nissan torques tough with diesel X-Trail
30/08/2008 04:07. FACELIFT: The Nissan X-Trail now has a diesel version. The second-generation X-Trail, launched in New Zealand last year, shot to record sales soon after it was made available, moving 60 units a month sometimes, with sales only now starting to ease back a tad. So the arrival of a diesel version of the model is well-timed, offering an alternative with more torquethan the petrol model but with similar specifications. The standard 2.5-litre 125kW petrol four is now joined by a 2-litre 110kW / 320Nm turbodiesel, mated to a new (conventional) six-speed automatic rather than the CVT used by the petrol model. Nissan New Zealand chose not to offer a manual version of the diesel, as less than 5 per cent of X-Trail sales have proven to be stick-shifter versions, and there isn't a CVT that's... // Waikato Times |
