27/10/2008 20:45. Audi's A3 and S3 range has been revised for 2009 to include two more engines, fresh styling and, for the first time in an A3, a seven-speed, S tronic, dual-clutch gearbox.

An S3 Sportback five-door will make its SA debut at the Johannesburg auto show at the end of October to join the S3 three-door at the top of the range.

They will share a 188kW/330Nm capable of 0-100 in 5.9sec, top speed of 250km/h and an "average" fuel consumption of 9.1 litres/100km.

The six-speed gearbox has even shorter lever travel and the electronically controlled, hydraulic multiplate clutch is now at the rear for better weight distribution

The 1.9-litre TDI , 77kW/250Nm turbodiesel will be available in the A3 and A3 Sportback and it's a measure of how torquey this... // Motoring
