NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Russia — GAZ Group, one of Russia's leading commercial vehicle makers, announced on Monday that it has launched production of its new Volga Siber, a version of the Chrysler Sebring adapted for the local market.

A Russian version of the previous-generation Chrysler Sebring, known as the Volga Siber, entered production today at in Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia. Russian automaker GAZ bought the license for the Sebring and the tooling to build it from Chrysler in April 2006.
