Garcia, wearing an orange jail jumpsuit, said he made $3,500 per car and specialized in stealing BMW and General Motors Corp. models. He and his two partners often were given a master key beforehand.

He said they had previously stolen a car in San Bernardino.

Garcia testified that he and Aguirre had ingested methamphetamine the night before the killing. He said all three had stayed awake all night before heading to the Inland area.
