04/09/2008 05:22. Sales of the Ford Ranger pickup, the only automobile made in Minnesota, increased 2.9 percent during August, though the truck is still behind last year's sales pace.

Ford today reported that it sold 4,920 trucks this August, compared to 4,783 during the same period in August 2007.

Through the first eight months, 50,900 Rangers were sold, compared to 53,415 a year ago, a drop of 4.7 percent.
