Tasmania upset Victoria in Ford Ranger Cup 13/11/2008 00:16. TASMANIA are on top of the one-day domestic cricket ladder after
again beating Victoria in a high stakes match, this time by 23 runs
at the MCG. The Tigers posted an imposing 8-290 from their 50 overs, which looked enough once the Vics were four down before the halfway point of their innings. But Brad Hodge (103) and wicketkeeper Adam Crosthwaite (52) led a spirited fightback with a stand of 77 from 63 balls, which gave the Bushrangers hope of a successful pursuit. But their departures well before the death gave the Tigers a comfortable win, following their one-wicket win in last season's final. Victoria were all out for 267 in 48.2 overs. The result enabled Tasmania (14 points) to leapfrog Victoria (13) to top, and the loss was the Bushrangers' first in either form... // Daily Telegraph |
