22/08/2008 07:13. ANDERSON, Ind. -- Canadian Ford Focus Midget racer Steven Mathews claimed a victory at the Alex Pruett Memorial event held August 13th at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana. The talented pilot drove his #88 Bob East prepared Beast chassis to the win at the United States Auto Club (USAC) Indiana Ford Focus Series after starting the main event in fifth.

With being one of the first cars out on track, the New Liskeard, Ontario resident and Ron Sutton Winner’s Circle Driver Development pilot set the pace early in qualifying with a time of 12.550 around the technical Anderson Speedway. Looking to secure the pole, the quick time was challenged by many but only beaten by one driver late in the session.
