Since then, it has become one of the most popular truck brands
General Motors has ever produced. Interestingly, it wasn't until
1973 that buyers could purchase a four-door Suburban, which is
about the time this vehicle class began to catch on as an
alternative to the family station wagon. In 2000, an all-new
Suburban hit the streets featuring a 5.3-litre V8 that developed
285-295 horsepower. Also available was a 290-330-horsepower
6.0-litre V8 used in three-quarter- ton models only. The following
year a big-cube 8.1-litre motor was made available. A completely
