No, they have not yet erased the 38th Parallel and reunited both sides.

This writer was talking about their automobile-production industry. In just a little more than a decade, Korea has reached the level of quality in car production that other Asian countries (except Japan, of course) can only aspire to.

Kia Motors for example, has done an excellent job of improving its cars that they can now be compared to consumer vehicles produced around the world. In some countries, in fact, they are better choices than the industry leaders like Toyota, Honda, BMW or Mercedes-Benz.
