Lotus builds Clark Type 25 Elise SC in honor of Jim Clark
06/06/2008 05:13. From that point, as the cliche goes, the rest was history.  Clark eventually won the Formula 1 World Championship twice for Team Lotus in 1963 and again in 1965.  In total, he won roughly a third of all races he entered, garnering 25 grand prix wins and the first ever win of the Indy 500 by a Briton.  

With approval from the Clark family, Lotus Cars will be building only 25 Clark edition Elises shod in British Racing Green with yellow racing stripes.  The car was designed to incorporate era-specific elements from Clark's 1963 Type 25 F1 car such as red-stitched leather bucket seats and a wooden shift knob.  Traditional black and silver lightweight forged aluminum wheels were added to the car in true Lotus... // MotorTrend Magazine
